TEJON RANCH CONSERVANCY

A CALIFORNIA TREASURE

The Tejon Ranch Conservancy is entrusted with the stewardship of 240,000 acres of California's wildest landscapes. This vast and ecologically diverse land protects a wide array of wildlife, plants, and habitats, while also maintaining critical wildlife corridors that allow species to move freely between the Central Valley, Antelope Valley, Sierra Nevada, and the Coastal Ranges.

Founded in 2008 through the signing of a historic Land Use Agreement between the Tejon Ranch Company, Sierra Club, Audubon California, Endangered Habitats League, Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Planning and Conservation League, the Conservancy was established to permanently protect these lands for conservation.

Today, the Tejon Ranch Conservancy remains steadfast in its mission to preserve, enhance, and restore the native biodiversity of this land. Their ongoing efforts ensure that the ecosystems of Tejon Ranch will thrive for generations to come, safeguarding the natural beauty and ecological significance of this extraordinary California treasure.

A MESSAGE FROM US

At PineMountainClub.com, we admire the extraordinary efforts of the Tejon Ranch Conservancy in preserving one of California's most biologically diverse landscapes. Spanning an incredible 270,000 acres, Tejon Ranch is the largest contiguous private property in the state and plays a critical role in maintaining vital wildlife corridors across four major ecological regions: The Great Central Valley, Sierra Nevada, Mojave Desert, and Southern California.

Tejon Ranch is truly unique, serving as a biogeographic crossroads where species from each of these regions coexist. The Tejon Ranch Conservancy's commitment to preserving 240,000 acres of this remarkable land ensures that future generations will continue to experience its diverse wildlife and plant species, including 60 at-risk species and over 200 bird species. By protecting this vast landscape, the Conservancy helps wildlife roam freely, making a lasting impact on conservation efforts at regional, state, and even continental levels.

We commend the Tejon Ranch Conservancy for their tireless dedication to conserving California's natural treasures. Through cutting-edge research and partnerships with leading universities, the Conservancy is continuously learning how to balance land preservation with the needs of wildlife and a working ranch. Their work provides a valuable opportunity for public access, allowing visitors—from artists and students to researchers and scientists—to explore, discover, and learn from the vast landscapes Tejon Ranch offers.

We are inspired not only by the breathtaking beauty of Tejon Ranch but also by the ongoing efforts of the Conservancy to safeguard its wilderness. Their work is a beacon of hope for future conservation efforts, showing how working landscapes can coexist with wildlife and ecological preservation.

We encourage everyone to participate in their efforts—whether by visiting, volunteering, or contributing financially. Supporting the Conservancy helps preserve one of the world's most ecologically significant properties, ensuring its natural beauty and wildlife will thrive for generations to come.
